Peter likes to work on problems where he can incorporate his understanding of art and the natural world, and problems of artistic process.
He is the son of two science fiction editors, David Hartwell & Kathryn Cramer, and the grandson of physicist and science fiction novelist John G. Cramer. He grew up in New York State in Westport, NY and Pleasantville New York. Peter is currently a student at North Country Community College majoring in Environmental Studies and is a Regents graduate of Westport Central School.
With educator and guide David Thomas-Train, he is a winner of the Champlain Area Trails essay contest. He attended Landmark College and a workshop at the Center for Cartoon Studies. He has also studied privately with David Thomas-Train, Colin Wells, and Ted Cornell.
Peter lived for several years in Toronto and has traveled extensively in Europe's northern countries, where he became interested in design. In Finland, with Ratio and Kathryn, he did a Finnish language intensive, studying with Irina Pravet in Helsinki.
Peter's long-term ambition is to become a wildlife educator to share his love of nature and its creatures.
